How Does the PZPulse Kit Compare to the Others in the Coolfire Series?
Combining huge battery capacities with stellar technology and plenty of power, the Coolfire range is still impressive. Initially, we witnessed the arrival of the Innokin Coolfire IV and the Innokin Coolfire Z50 kits.
The former offered 40W of power in the comfort of your hand with a bright OLED display and variable wattage plus advanced safety features.
Meanwhile, the latter was a fantastic upgrade to the Coolfire IV with the Z50 boasting a new larger OLED display, a high-performing 2100mAh battery and the exciting addition of the Zlide Tank.
More recently the exciting release of the deceptively powerful Innokin Coolfire Z60 and the Innokin Coolfire Z80 highlighted their 4th generation of kits with FO technology, which extends the life of the Innokin Zenith coil range with the intriguing ‘refresh’ mode. The Z60 has an even bigger 2500mAh battery capacity to support 60W of power. There is a useful battery switch and like all of these devices listed, supports a huge collection of coils from the Innokin Zenith range.
Now Innokin has stepped up another level with the introduction of the Coolfire PZPulse Kit. This is the first device in the Coolfire series with IP-68-rated technology, which is typically showcased more by brands like Geekvape. Therefore, you will have a dustproof, waterproof and shockproof cover.
In addition, the Coolfire PZPulse has a stylish design with a 0.96-inch TFT curved display which wraps around the mod. It operates with a pod design rather than a classic vape tank, offering a plug-and-play system for easy coil swaps. Most importantly, Innokin has moved away from the Zenith Coils and alongside the PZPulse released the new PZP Max Coils.
Overall, it has equally reliable power and battery life compared to the other mods from the Coolfire collection with 2400mAh and 80W of adjustable power, but additional stylish features in a more compact form.
How to Use the Coolfire PZPulse Vape Kit: Simple Setup Guide
The set-up is very simple with the Innokin Coolfire PZPulse. As we know with Innokin, their devices have always been geared towards simplicity and quick use for vaping on the go for all levels and nicotine strength requirements. Here is a quick rundown for initial use, with further instructions included in the user manual:
- Saturate the coils with a little e-liquid on the cotton wick, and allow them to sit for 5-10 minutes.
- Push the coil into the bottom of the PZP pod until it clicks into place.
- There is a rubber plug attached near the top of the pod, situated just below the mouthpiece to add your vape juice.
- Click the pod into place on top of the battery-powered device. To remove the pod to refill, simply pull the pod off the battery.
- Three clicks of the fire button located above the screen to power the device on and another three to turn off.
- For peace of mind, you can lock the device with the handy switch located on the side panel.
- To enter the menu, hold the plus and minus buttons below the screen together for two seconds.
- For the informational menu, press the fire button and the plus button. From here you can see voltage, your puff counter, and coil resistance.
- To adjust the power, simply hold the minus or plus button for one second. After that, the wattage display will flash, and then you can adjust the level using the plus or minus button!
How Does it Vape?
For a long time now, Innokin has led the way in coil technology with a large range of resistances from the Zenith coils. So, is it a wise step for them to move away from such popularity to try something new with the PZP coils? Well, we can say after testing and following our Coolfire Z80 review that the PZP coils offer an outstanding vape hit with real warmth when using the DTL coils at a higher wattage (0.2 Ohm especially).
The cloud performance is excellent, as you drop down the resistance level. There are three options (two of which are with the kit itself). This includes the 0.2 Ohm and the 0.4 Ohm (pre-installed).
Testing both, the 0.4 Ohm should be vaped as recommended by Innokin between 40-60W. Use the adjustable airflow to find the right level for you. This is a generously warm vape with a stronger flavour and plenty of clouds.
Alternatively, the 0.2 Ohm vapes between 60-80W, which is packed with flavour and brings your fruit or savoury e-liquids to life. In addition, you can purchase the 0.6 Ohm separately here – best vaped between 18-23W for a restrictive direct lung experience. This coil is slightly less flattering in terms of flavour but use the airflow to adjust accordingly to what suits your preference.
Innokin Coolfire PZPulse Appearance and Build Quality Overview
We love how the device looks. It may be one of the strongest and most durable Innokin kits yet, with a robust feel and comfortable grip in the hand. This is thanks to the leather panel situated on the back and the rubber addition at the base of the kit, which is always welcome for standing on a table. Because of the ergonomic design and useful IP68 rating, it looks and acts very much like a Geekvape device.
Was this intentional or purely an opportunity seen by Innokin to up their game and offer a different style? We think it is a mixture of both!
Available in a range of colours, you can pick from professional black, a bold Blue Green, a trendy Gunmetal, a vibrant Purple Gradient or classic Silver. At just under £35 with a few coil options (expecting the announcement of more in the future) and fantastic cloud performance, this is an awesome-looking vape mod for any avid collector of mods or curiosity to try Innokin.
The new PZP pods offer a loose draw thanks to the wide curved mouthpiece and a see-through design as standard.

Verdict
To match the popularity of disposable vapes which are on the way out, devices like the Innokin PZPulse, which enhances e-liquid flavour, offers brilliant value and a tough yet ultra-modern design will shape the vape industry for 2025. It is early days, but early signs suggest that the PZP coils are a match for the Z Coils (both made by Innokin), with the PZP coils creating amazing flavour from high VG e-liquids.
The Innokin Coolfire PZPPulse is the best kit yet in the Coolfire series and offers a reliable move away from disposable vapes, entry-level pod kits with limited functions and most importantly cigarettes. Flavour, cloud performance and airflow can all be optimised to enhance the vape experience and offer a truly customisable experience. We love how it looks and can not wait to hear your feedback!
