Like all things vaping, it comes down entirely to personal preference and what works for you!

Prefilled Flavour Cartridges vs. Refillable E-Liquids.

Prefilled cartridges are a brilliant choice for beginner vapers and for those who value efficiency and convenience when they vape. This is probably the easiest way to vape, as all you need to do is insert the prefilled e-liquid cartridge into the vape device and you’re ready to go! You don’t have to clean, maintain or refill a vape tank or pod, and when you start to feel your hits becoming a little drier, simply switch out for another e-liquid! Prefilled cartridges also make it much easier to switch between flavours, as there isn’t any contamination between e-liquids, so if you’re always on the lookout for new and exciting flavours, this might be the best way for you to vape!

However, there are a few downsides to prefilled cartridges. Firstly, you are restricted in the types and brands of e-liquids you can buy, depending on the device you are using. Obviously, you’ll only be able to use prefilled cartridges that are compatible with your device, and if there’s a flavour you want to try that isn’t available in your range, then you’re out of luck! Prefilled cartridges are also more wasteful than filling your own e-liquid ranks, as each cartridge is a single-use piece that must be thrown away after each use, and they cannot be recycled due to the residual e-liquid inside. Prefilled cartridges are also a little more expensive than buying and filling your own e-liquid tanks based on the amount of e-liquid you get. However, even if you’re a staunch prefilled cartridge vaper, you’ll still be saving a fortune compared to traditional tobacco cigarettes.

If the freedom to be able to choose your own e-liquids is important to you, you’re probably better off choosing a refillable tank or cartridge and adding your own e-liquids in. This is great for vapers who like to vary their vape experience, sub-ohming one day and flavour-chasing the next! If you have a vape mod device, or are looking into purchasing a vape mod, your own e-liquids are probably the way forward, and the vast majority of advanced vape devices are designed for use with refillable tanks and e-liquids. It’s also the most economical and least wasteful form of vaping, and has the unique advantage of giving you the opportunity to mix your own e-liquids, creating exciting flavour combinations of your own!

Refilling an e-cigarette, vape pod or mod kit yourself is more difficult and time-consuming than simply popping on a prefilled cartridge and calling it a day! However, most vapers it up pretty easily and there are always new products and developments in the vaping world to help make it easier for the average user, so it isn’t too much of a chore in the long run. If you use a refillable tank with e-liquids, you also need to commit to cleaning and maintaining your parts on a semi-regular basis, including when you’re changing e-liquid flavours, so you’ll need to plan in advance if you have a new flavour you want to try. Finally, vape mods and e-cigarettes with refillable tanks are more likely to leak than prefilled cartridges. However, if you try not to keep your vape in a loose pocket or deep handbag, most modern vapes are fairly leak-proof!
